简介：Historically, the Lijin tax first appeared in the third year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty. It was one of the new fiscal taxes levied by the Qing Dynasty to raise military wages to suppress the Taiping Army. When the entire Jiangnan was stirred up by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, the tax revenue in Jiangnan could not be raised. However, the Lijin tax supported the Qing Dynasty's finances, allowing the Qing Dynasty to have sufficient food and wages to deal with the Taiping Army.
